What does 16 + 7 + 10 + 32 + 9 + 8 =
A LOT of pounds of fruit! We made multiple trips to farms and picked fruit starting with 16 lbs of strawberries, then 7 lbs of red raspberries, then 10 lbs of peaches, then 32 lbs of tart and Bing cherries, then back again for 9 lbs of red raspberries and black raspberries, and finally 8 lbs of blueberries, purple raspberries and gold raspberries. We've eaten a bunch, frozen some for later and pawned a bunch off to our family. All of the fruit has been delicious and made more so because we picked them ourselves.
We like staying near downtown Wausau with so much to do.
The annual Tomahawk WI July 4th parade and fireman water fight and crowd cool down at the conclusion of the parade. A fun time spent with family!
We went with Donna's sister Chris and husband Ted to the highest natural point in Wisconsin. Timm's Hill stands at 1952 feet and also happens to have an observation tower. Don and Ted ascended the tower while Chris and Donna cheered them on from below.Yes, small towns in Wisconsin do serve up Chicago style hotdogs! Yummy! We went with Donna's sister Bev and her husband Red.
