What does 16 + 7 + 10 + 32 + 9 + 8 =

A LOT of pounds of fruit!  We made multiple trips to farms and picked fruit starting with 16 lbs of strawberries, then 7 lbs of red raspberries, then 10 lbs of peaches, then 32 lbs of tart and Bing cherries, then back again for 9 lbs of red raspberries and black raspberries, and finally 8 lbs of blueberries, purple raspberries and gold raspberries.  We've eaten a bunch, frozen some for later and pawned a bunch off to our family.  All of the fruit has been delicious and made more so because we picked them ourselves.

We like staying near downtown Wausau with so much to do.

US Open Canoe Nationals at Whitewater Park downtown.
Chalkfest - artists get a square of sidewalk to draw a picture using colored chalk.

The Wausau Woodchucks Baseball games (a summer college league).  We went with our son Conor and grandson Isaac.  Brats were a must have during the game!

The annual Tomahawk WI July 4th parade and fireman water fight and crowd cool down at the conclusion of the parade.  A fun time spent with family!

We went with Donna's sister Chris and husband Ted to the highest natural point in Wisconsin. Timm's Hill stands at 1952 feet and also happens to have an observation tower.  Don and Ted ascended the tower while Chris and Donna cheered them on from below.
Yes, small towns in Wisconsin do serve up Chicago style hotdogs!  Yummy!  We went with Donna's sister Bev and her husband Red.

No, we have not forgotten that y'all expect to see our food pictures.  (We eat the food to save you from the calories!)

Don and his love of pancakes - the bigger the better.
As much as we both love cheese, we did find out that one can have too much cheese on a pizza!  Couldn't taste any of the other toppings!
Of course, ice cream!!!!
The summer is going by so fast.  We've decided to extend our stay in Wausau through the end of September.  Stay tuned for more fun!
