Breakfast with a moose is rather exciting!

While eating breakfast at a local restaurant on the plaza in Breckenridge, a moose casually walked by the window.   We were able to snap these pics, but he disappeared before we could ask him in for breakfast.😁

Hiking is both literally and figuratively taking our breath away!  The thinner air contributes to our breathlessness.  Most of our hikes are done in silence as talking uses up too much of our available oxygen.  The scenery is so beautiful!  Yesterday was our longest and highest trek yet.  Round trip of seven miles with an elevation increase of 1600 feet.

Part way up the mountain, we stopped at Ten Mile Station - elevation at just over 10,200 feet.  Note the difference in snow in less than two weeks.

There is a horse stables halfway to Ten Mile Station.  We've seen lots of horseback riders.  So cool!

Our destination - the Peak 9 Overlook sits at just over 11,200 feet.  We definitely noticed the temperature drop and the wind increase as we arrived.  A firm grip on our hats was a must!

We've taken the bus several more times so that we can sightsee.  The views are gorgeous!

In some areas, the houses here are lined along the top of ridges here in the mountains.  We wonder how they stay perched without sliding down the hill.
You know how you spend hours getting rid of dandelions in your yard?  Well they are plentiful here both in town and up the mountain - so big, beautiful and healthy looking.  They grow in a thick cluster like chrysanthemums.   We think they should be Colorado's state flower!

We've been hitting the hot tub after every hike to soothe our tired old muscles.  Daily Don shoots pool in the common area while Donna plays cards.
No blog is complete without a food pic.  We picked up Don's favorite breakfast - doughnuts.  They were huge - yet very tasty!
We have more than a month here in Breckenridge, so be on the lookout for more posts.  We love it here!
