Heading home to see mom...Don's Mom in Johnson City, NY

We left Alexandria and sprinted to see my (Don's) mom in Johnson City, New York to be there in time for her 92nd birthday on May 27th.

Hi Mom.

She has not had any visitors for more than a year.  Much of the time they were not allowed out of their rooms.  The nursing home has slightly relaxed its policies and allows only 45 minute visits in the facility. Instead, we took her out for drives and did takeout lunches in our hotel lobby for a few days.    My mom is doing well for being 92. She beat covid and is alert and fairly agile.

While we were in the area, we did some hiking at the glen.  It was originally owned by IBM and was part of the Thomas Watson estate. Both days were cold with temps in the upper 40s.

We paid our respects to my dad at the cemetery.  I can't believe he has been gone for eight years already!  We weren't his only company that day.

How much wood could a Woodchuck chuck....? (In case you didn't recognize them) Donna wants me to add a fun fact (if you're into woodchuck trivia)  that a woodchuck chucks around 35 cubic feet of dirt in the course of digging a burrow. So if a woodchuck could chuck wood, he would chuck an amount equivalent to the weight of the dirt OR 700 lbs.

And a Turkey

We squeezed in repairs on the windshield and air conditioning for our Subaru.  Hopefully, all is fixed!

Next we are off to Rutland, Vermont for a few days of Cheese, Maple syrup and more hiking....
