Ice cream for breakfast and lunch

Mom was wrong!  You can have ice cream for breakfast and lunch and it won't spoil your dinner!  On our way to Burlington, we stopped for a Vermont maple creemee (really, just a soft serve ice cream) and a large three scoop Ben and Jerry's bowl.  We still found room to have steak, shrimp and a local craft beer (Green State lager) for supper in Burlington.

While in Burlington, the temperatures turned toasty (90+ degrees) and the locals asked if we brought the heat with us to Vermont.  We vehemently denied it.  Over the last few days, we sampled the Lake Champlain chocolates and some more local craft beer (Little Wolf and Lady Bird), of course!

We walked through the University of Vermont grounds.  Don't you just love the architecture and the rhododendrons.

Driving through the countryside was beautiful and relaxing.  There were dairy farms........

Cemeteries - some close to the road.....

Some cemeteries had artistic flair - gravestones in the shape of people, cars, planes, soccer balls, and even a bed.

And even a sculpture made out of fire hydrants.

We did more hiking, but won't bore you with more pictures of trees from high above.  We did take the ferry from Charlotte, VT to Essex, NY and back.  It was a first for Donna and a second for Don.  Harry and Hermione insisted on joining us for the trip.

Climbed to the top of Ethan Allen Tower in Burlington and took this lovely picture on a misty day.

We're off to North Conway, NH on Wednesday, June 9 for a short stay before moving onto Augusta, ME.  Weather permitting we will take a train ride.
